Gergő Filep makes wines with his father on their 2 hectare estate in Tállya, Tokaj. The Furmint-Hárslevelű is delightfully powerful, with a concentration of fruit and minerals on the nose and palate. Baking spices and herbs on the nose, creamy, with green peppercorn, candied lemons, and a long volcanic finish.
Spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts in 500 L used Hungarian oak barrels, stainless steel tanks, and microoxidative Speidel tanks. Aging for 10 months in oak, stainless tank and Speidel tanks. 83% Furmint, 17% Hárslevelű. Unfined, rough filtration only. Practicing organic.
