Lisboa, Portugal— This is a year-round rosé released almost well over a year after it was harvested. Palhete is a Portuguese term for using white and red grapes in the same wine.
This rosé is made in an interesting fashion. The Touriga Nacional macerates on its red skins for about three hours, then is racked to macerate on the destemmed skins of Arinto and Fernão Pires for 30 days. It then ages in oak barrels for nine months.
Super layered, chewy mouthfeel with bright red fruit, sea salt, beeswax, tender herbs, with a very slight oxidative finish. Yum. This wine keeps going and going….
