Bordeaux, France — This wine is a blend of Biodynamically farmed Merlot (50%), Cabernet Sauvignon (25%), and Cabernet Franc (25%) from Entre Deux Mer (left bank Bordeaux). 3 years in neutral barrel. Rustic and spicy. Graphite, cherry, forest floor, with velvety tannins. Subtle green pepper note peeks through.
A blend of 2011 and 2012 and while you won’t find Bordeaux listed on the bottle, this is a steal for the region. It is rare to find Bordeaux at this price and with appropriate age to mellow out the tannins. Not only that, but it is Biodynamic without any added sulfur! Will totally please natural wine drinkers and folks looking for a classic Bordeaux.
Mikael Jaumain is a maverick in the region. He’s a total devotee to Ruldoph Steiner. Only ever spraying vines with a tissane of arnica, nettles, and eucalyptus. 0/0
