Montesecondo's Chianti Classico is 90% Sangiovese 10% Canaiolo & Colorino (co-planted as is traditional in Chianti). The grapes are hand-harvested and mainly destemmed, leaving some whole clusters in the mix. Spontaneously fermented in concrete tanks, with minimal sulfur additions. The wine is aged in both concrete and wood and bottled without filtration. A well balanced wine, with smooth tannins, and notes of black cherry.
