Lisboa, Portugal— 80% Síria (a native Portuguese grape), 20% Firnão Pires that sees 60 days of skin-contact followed by two years of elevage in amphora and stainless steel. This is a beautifully textured and expressive orange wine with a pale gold colour. The palate is fresh and nutty with a hint of spice and flavours of tangerine, marmalade and pure citrus fruits. Structurally, it is juicy and linear, with a nice saline finish.
"Cluricaun” is a new label from Quinta do Montalto, a historic, family-run estate that dates back to 1880. The family is serious about regenerative agriculture— raising bees, planting olives & raising livestock in harmony with the vines.
