Burgundy, France — A lovely biodynamic Burgundy with all the typical calling cards-- rich and creamy while balanced with a citrus freshness. Honey, pear, and pineapple. Structured and pretty.
Great value from a family estate located in the heart of the Mâconnais, in the south of Burgundy. The Gandines vineyard is operated by the Dananchet family who specialize in the production of great white wines from Mâconnais. Passionate about the diversity and richness of the terroirs, and for the Chardonnay grape variety. The Gandine estate was created by Joseph Dananchet in 1925. The first plot planted was the one located on the exceptional climate “Les Gandines”. The estate was then made up of only one and a half hectares in Clessé. Over the decades, four generations have followed one another. In 1979 Robert Dananchet took over the vineyard from his father Marc and continues the work alongside his sons Benjamin and Florent. Respecting tradition and terroir by using no herbicides or chemical fertilizers, the vineyard was certified Organic in 2009 and has gradually evolved towards biodynamic viticulture of now 15 hectares.
