Mount Lebanon, Lebanon— 100% Sabbaghieh from 1,000+ meter high vines farmed organically on Mount Lebanon. Sabbaghieh is a native Lebanese grape known for its intensely dark flesh and skin. (Traditionally used to dye clothes, the grape takes its name from the Arabic ‘Sabgha’ or ‘to dye’.) Rami blend 40% late harvest with 60% early harvest for freshness, aged in stainless steel. Brambly plum, pomegranate molasses, smoky mushroom, forest floor and wild herbs. Medium-bodied with food-friendly tannin. Nice with a slight chill ! El-Sabban is a project from Rami Bassil El-Sabban, ex-sommelier and nomadic winemaker based in Lebanon, making wines with Mersel Wines and Château Cana.
