Mario Macciocca farms 4 hectares of vines biodynamically. He primarily grows Cesanese that are sheltered from cold winds by the Scalambra mountains. They're planted in red volcanic soil. Mario was formally a football player before transitioning into making wine.
Monocromo #1 is a blend of Passerina (80%) and Malvasia Puntinata (20%) with 12 days maceration in concrete. Citrus, stonefruit, and a touch of salinity. Volcanic minerality.
