BB gets it's name from The grape variety, Bobal (nicknamed Bob). As with many of the wines from Partida Creus, Bobal was nearly a forgotten Catalan variety. Massimo’s friend farms this plot in Manchuria. Old-vine Bobal planted in clay-limestone soil. The grapes are hand-harvested, macerate for 3 days and then spend 8 months in steel. Vibrant, juicy, herbaceous, pomegranate, baked plums, cardamom.
Massimo and Antonella moved from Piedmont to Catalan and initially lived in Barcelona then moved to the city. They started farming organic food and transitioned to making wine as they couldn’t find wine that followed the same philosophy as their food. They would find abandoned vineyards and put in the work to obtain, farm, and eventually make wine. Most of the vineyards were full of nearly forgotten varieties and low-yielding vines.
