Gorgeous Chilean wine from Roberto Henríquez. Finessed, dialed in and supple. Old bush vine País that is destemmed and gently crushed, followed by 5 months in old Rauli barrels. Spontaneous fermentation, unfined, unfiltered, low SO2 at bottling. It is refreshing to have a pure example of Chilean wine.

An elegant, structured País with silky tannins. Deep rustic cherry, garrique, stone, raspberry with a whisper of smoke. 

Roberto Henríquez studied agronomy and enology at the University of Concepción and then traveled the world to work with different winemakers including the iconic Rene Mosse in the Loire Valley. Mosse had a big impact on Roberto and upon returning to Chile he chose to farm organic and biodynamically.

Roberto carefully selects his vineyards and has worked out long term leases allowing him to farm the land himself with the help of a few animals. This País comes from a very old vineyard in Bío Bío with a unique microclimate and vines planted in solidified magma soil. Inspired by Mosse, it only made sense to adopt the same winemaking techniques of the original Chilean farmers and make Pipeño.
