Mallorca, Spain— A big blend of different Mallorcan varietals from all over the island go into this iteration of Fato (previously known as Chateau Pacquita). The fruit here is dark, luminous and sun-kissed without being weighty. Balancing the fruit is a gentle layer of earth, herbs, spice sitting against a salty sea breezy quality. Few wines transport us to their origin in the same way as Elio's, this is Mallorca in a glass.
Fato 2024 is made with old vines of Callet, Manto Negro, Garnatxa Peluda, Fogoneu Mallorqui, Fogoneu Frances and more from 8 small plots in Felanitx and Porreres over the island’s emblematic red clay soils.
Each parcel was picked individually and macerated from anywhere between a week and a month, with varying amounts of whole bunches, and after pressing, the wine rested in old casks for a year.
Production is tiny and we have very little to go around. Get it while you can!
