Fawn Weaver created the Uncle Nearest label to honor Nearest Green, the first known African-American master distiller who taught Jack Daniels how to distill. As Uncle Nearest Distillery gets underway, they have released a line of sourced whiskies that undergo maple charcoal filtration.
Uncle Nearest 1856 is blend of whiskies between 8 and 14 years old that opens with spice, herbs, and citrus leading to a mild palate overall. Bottled at 100 proof, it finishes with a bit of heat. A unique and bold take on the typically mild Tennessee style.
