Oberstockstall, Wagram, Austria- Karl Fritsch made his first wine in 1992; since 2006, he has fully committed his family’s historic estate to biodynamics. His Zweigelt grapes are grown on ancient ocean soils west of Vienna, hand-harvested and macerated on skins for 8 hours and pressed, undergoing spontaneous primary and malolactic fermentation in tanks. Bottled unfined and unfiltered after 3 months on lees in stainless steel.
Very light, with pleasant acidity and touch of minerality. Notes of fresh plums and sour cherries, a great aperitif wine! Low SO2
